Our 68-plate Karoq with DSG does this when cold too. The dealers saying they were not aware is frankly laughable, and any engine updates will almost certainly have other implications running wise.

on 10 May 2019, My model year 19 Karoq 1.5TSI EVO manual gearbox (pre Q2 update) didn't suffer from the cold start kangarooing issue there seemed to be an anti-stall system where the revs increased slightly from the tickover as you let the clutch out so I never experienced any of the prolonged kangaroo issues. I'm wondering whether my 1.5 SE-L Octavia was built before they put the Kangaroo chip in the engine mgmt system. I have noticed that if you sit in the car in 1st gear with the clutch depressed, handbrake on and the other foot completely off the accelerator, and then just let the clutch out very slightly the engine starts to rev itself.

I have ordered a new car with this engine but having read the forums about the problem wish to cancel. Two software updates and still problems, They have a big problem sadly they should switch straight back to the old 1.4 no issues. Please post an update about how you get on.
